Founded in 1969 by Sharon E. Dante, the Children's Division at The Nutmeg (formerly the Torrington School of Ballet) is committed to training young people in the art of classical ballet. A special syllabus for Pre-Ballet has been developed for students ages 3-7. An adaptation of the Vaganova Syllabus is used for all ballet training which begin slowly in levels one through three. Every student, whether participating in an appreciation class or concentrated level, receives quality training in technique and eventually, pointe.
